Questions to Consider When Choosing an Orthodontist

In my previous post I outline some questions that you should consider when choosing an Orthodontist. Here are some other key considerations in choosing an Orthodontist.

Am I going to be comfortable with the individual for 1-3 years (depending on your treatment time)?

Can I talk to this person, and does this person listen to me and my concerns?

Are they kind and gentle? Since you are going to have multiple visits over the course of your treatment, you need to make sure that you feel at home in the office, with the doctor and the entire team. Do you feel comfortable asking the doctor or other team members questions?

Does the office provide early morning appointments and healthy treats prior to work or school?

Do they provide afternoon snacks after a tough day at work or school?

Is the team friendly?

Can you plan your day around your appointment and count on them to run on-time?

Are there conveniences for you to make your orthodontic treatment easier and less complicated?

Do they have Saturday appointments?

Do they provide a reward program to encourage good oral habits and reward cooperation?

At the end of the day you want someone who takes the time to know you and make you special. Someone who would never forget your birthday and treats you like family. You should expect more than just good service, you deserve a good experience with your Orthodontist.
